1. Who we are

Yourbro ("we", "us") operates the Yourbro website and app at yourbro.app — a legal-information and peer-support platform for men facing Section 498A and related matrimonial cases in India. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, meaning we decide why and how it is processed. Contact us anytime at support@yourbro.app.

2. Data we collect and why

  • Account data — display name, email address, and login credentials (including Google sign-in identifiers), used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Profile & case details you choose to add — city, FIR date, next hearing date, and case stage, used to personalize strategy guidance and hearing reminders. Legal basis: contract performance. This can be sensitive information — only add what you are comfortable storing with us.
  • Content you create — AI strategy chat history and Messenger posts, used to provide the service and keep your history available across devices. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • Membership data — your plan (Free/Pro/Premium) and subscription status, used to unlock the features you paid for. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • Usage and device data — IP address, device identifiers, and app usage/telemetry, used for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages — when you email us, we keep the conversation to help you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Language preference — English or Hindi, stored on your device to display the app in your language. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Payment card, UPI, and billing details are collected and processed directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle — we never see or store your full payment details.

3. Who we share data with

  • Service providers that host and operate the app: cloud hosting and database (Lovable Cloud), AI processing for the strategy chat (Google Gemini via Lovable's AI gateway), and support tooling.
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, to sell memberships, manage subscriptions, process payments, and handle tax compliance (including GST) and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

Other members can see your display name on Messenger posts you make — never your email, case details, or payment information. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Retention

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above — generally while your account is active, plus any period the law requires (for example, tax and billing records). AI chat history and Messenger posts are kept while your account is active; you can delete your own messages anytime. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

5. Your rights

You can view and edit your profile and case details anytime on the Account page, delete your own messages, and cancel your membership on the Plans page. Depending on the law that applies to you (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may also have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or transfer your personal data, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to nominate someone to exercise your rights. To exercise any right, email support@yourbro.app. If you are in the UK/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; we respond to requests within one month.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers (AI processing, cloud infrastructure, Paddle) process data outside India, the UK, or the EEA. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data: encryption in transit, authenticated access controls, per-row database isolation so members can only read their own profile and chats, and server-side verification for all payment events.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use essential storage only — to keep you signed in and remember your language preference — plus optional analytics to understand how the app is used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential storage will prevent sign-in.

9. Changes and contact

If we change this notice, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify signed-in members in the app. Questions or requests: support@yourbro.app.
